Will miss our great conversations

I met Mr. Harder on September 12th, 2009 in Lewisport KY. Nick and I were working on “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. Mr. Harder had come to visit Nick on set and see the build in progress. We hit it off right away. I’m sure I’m not the first person to say that. It was the start of many great conversations we would have. Conversations about visiting Wisconsin, going fishing, and the big one… Seeing a Green Bay Packers game at Lambeau Field. This has been on my bucket list for years. Every time I’d see Mr. Harder we would talk about it. “When are you coming out to see a game?” he’d say. “I hope next season” I’d say. And he’d tell me a great story of something I should do when I was in town. As I look at this photo of Nick and Mr. Harder in front of the “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” house. I realized I’ve been talking about that trip for over a decade and now I’ll never be able to finish the conversations we started so long ago. I know it would have been our best conversation ever. What did you do? Where did you go? Did you try this? He would ask. I would have committed the whole trip to memory, knowing when I saw him next I’d have a great story to tell him. And that he would love to hear. That’s the kinda guy he was. If you met him once, you made a friend for life. He always told me not to put that trip off. Now that he is no longer with us on earth,  I know he will be with us when we finally make that long-overdue trip to Lambeau Field. Helping us find a good parking spot, guiding us where to eat and take great photos, and of course, helping the Packers win that day. Thanks for the great conversations, my friend. Your giving spirit will live on through your family and the people who were blessed to meet you.
